Worst text book ever

I implore you to attempt to find a class that doesn't require this text book. I wrote an English paper citing many areas of this book which are complete filler and worthless drivel and received an A and chuckles from my english professor. The people who wrote this should be tarred and feathered. The giant sucking sound that is the cost of college text books has met it's apex with this terrible terrible TERRIBLE text book. If you are required to buy this book to further your degree, you should contact your dean in order to help avert a waste of time and money.

Adequate Text

There is nothing really faulty with how this book is written although there are a great many ambiguous areas but the real problem is the support. The tests are intentionally written in a tricky manner and additionally many times your right answer is marked wrong. Thankfully I had a great Oral Communications instructor that worked with the students and gave them credit for these deficiencies. It is too bad a certain number of students will take the erroneous mark and not say anything. It is almost like they are intentionally keeping students from doing their honest best. I know my instructor despises this book but apparently all the instructors must use this text. Too bad they don't allow the input from those in the field but rather force them to use the text because of local author fan club.
Now for the part that really ticks me off. This was supposed to be a new book sold by Amazon. What I received was clearly a used book, arriving in a padded envelope (rather than the traditional box), with bent lower cover, a sticker on the spine of, which I assume, the place that fulfilled this order. Add to that a paper sticker over the ISBN and bar code with another bar code on it. I peeled it back when I went in to sell it back and see no reason for this as the ISBN 10 is the same as the number on the paper sticker. I received a used Art History book that was in far better shape than this supposedly "new" text book. Amazon, you need to check out this fulfillment center as they are misrepresenting the books they are mailing. Communication: Making Connections (9th Edition)
