The book gives a high level overview to Scrum purely based on the Scrum guide. Some points raised are definitely better than average and other writings about Scrum.

Although it promotes the PSM I exam, the information is not actually correct to what is assessed; there are blatant errors. For example it claims the Product Owner is from the performing organisation, and not of the client - Scrum actually does not prescribe this but prefers the PO to be in the organisation that "owns" the product; thus maximising value. It indicates the backlog contains user stories, however the PSM talks about Product Backlog Items and these could be anything that constitutes building a product. User stories for example are common, but not mandatory in scrum.

The errors may just lead you to failing the exam.

About the Author
Peter Breen is an independent member of the Upper House of the New South Wales Parliament. A former NSW Chairman of the Australian Small Business Association he has practised as a solicitor and barrister since 1973. In 1999 he successfully moved for an inquiry by the NSW Parliament into a statutory Bill of Rights for NSW. He is currently preparing a report for the Parliament on the results of the inquiry.

Breen is ably qualified to write this book, having been a practising solicitor and barrister in Australia for almost 30 years.

About the Author
Allan Lokos, founder and guiding teacher of the Community Meditation Center in New York City, is the author of Patience: The Art of Peaceful Living and Pocket Peace: Effective Practices for Enlightened Living. His writing has appeared in The NY Times, The Huffington Post, Tricycle magazine and he has taught at Columbia University Teacher's College, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Marymount College, The Rubin Museum, NY Insight Meditation Center, NY Open Center, Insight Meditation Community of Washington, and Tibet House. Earlier in this life Allan was a professional singer appearing in the original Broadway productions of Oliver! and Pickwick. He lives in New York City.

Highly recommend for stressed folks

The afternoon my dear Mother died we had had a long chat and as we were saying goodbye after making plans to spend the next day together she said, "I want you to work on your Patience." I laughed in my former A-type way and told her I would Google the word, see what it meant, and buy a book about it. After the initial shock of sweet Mom's death was worn down by the business of death I was fortunate to find this wonderful work at Amazon. Mr. Lokos' writing has such a calm quality to it. I knew this was the right book for me when I read that he had been the sort of person who would lose his temper, then deeply regret it. This made him suffer. This sounded just like me so I bought this marvelous book. This is not just for developing Patience as it helps with stress as well. It has taught me to stop and think before retorting angrily. I have noticed three of my friends and loved ones under particular stress and have given them my copies. The two folks who actually read the book said it made a big difference. The other person was too impatient to even try to read it. I have bought the book four times now and keep it close by so that when I feel those old feelings returning I can take a refresher course. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Another fine book by the author of POCKET PEACE

Allan Lokos's previous book 'Pocket Peace' was so good that I bought
PATIENCE the first chance I had.

Previous reviewers have written many of the things that I was thinking
of mentioning. I will say that the book is very well written, direct
and clear in its message. (For a brief moment I was worried that I
would have to memorize the 10 Perfection Practices; the Noble
Eightfold Path; the 5 Basic Precepts; the 5 Marks of Skillful Speech;
the 4 Immeasurables; the 4 Noble Truths and the 3 Poisons. When I stopped reading it like a textbook, the book blossomed.)

The book's quote from Shantideva; "A single flash of anger can destroy all the
good deeds,the generosity,the kindness we have practied over thousands
of eons' was worth the price of the book alone. In addition; the book
helps you deal with/accept the daily noise assaults we encounter every
day. The book also includes a famous story from Native American tradition
on how to deal with the battles between being your best
or giving in to the worst aspects of selfishness.

The author includes a suggested reading list, which he
augments by mentioning why each particular book is worthwhile. I could go on mentioning the book's
many invaluable practices and quotes, but let me conclude by saying
that my copy of PATIENCE is so underlined, highlighting sentences and
quotes that I wanted quick access to, that the book looks like one of
those used text books you find in a college bookstore. Recommended.'

You WILL take it with you ~

Sometimes we read a book and then bend the corner of the page, underline a few lines, or share with our mate (or our FaceBook Friends) a passage that we feel is especially profound. Sure, you could do that with 'Patience' but I think it will have a bigger impact.

This is the book that's wisdom will sneak up on you while you're in your car, considering what nasty things you could yell to the driver who's holding up traffic. Suddenly, instead of feeling superior in all ways to this stranger, you might find yourself filled with a white glow of equanimity and consider your good fortune to be able to spend one more minute, taking a sip of your morning coffee and looking at the clouds passing above the pavement.

Too good to be true...

"Too good to be true" was my initial response to this title when an enthusiastic mentor suggested it be added to my reading list. After all, success is supposed to be difficult, right? No pain, no gain! Now, as I type this review, I feel a bit naive by my dismissal of it's concepts at first, but am fully confident that my life is careening toward a positive, uphill path. I have goals now, ambitions, clearly defined targets that are now, not just "wishes," but "can happens" and "will happens."
I'm grateful for my many blessings, my mentor and Ben Sweetland for introducing this to my life. Pick up this book and be blessed.

Grow rich While You Sleep

I like this book a lot because it is not only a way to use your subconscious to help you (i.e. the "Great Mind") but it also tells about the awake mind and how to use it to your advantage. I liked the way the book went. It is a motivational type of book and also presents a way of living positively. It is a book not only for getting ahead but can also be used I think for a way of life. I highly recommend it for anybody needing a good lift!

This is a classic

This book was written years ago, but remains a source of useful advice. It centers around the power of the subconscious mind when activated by affirmations and visualizations. Sweetland was an advice columnist, so he had years of experience in helping people achieve a better. This ebook edition is inexpensive and well worth the read.
