About the Author
Melanie Bowles is Senior Lecturer in Digital Textiles Design at Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts, London, with more than 15 years' teaching experience. She is also a textile designer and researcher and has sold and exhibited her work internationally.

Ceri Isaac is a textile designer specializing in digital print and technology. She has over 10 years of industry experience and her work has been exhibited at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York and the Textile Design Museum in Washington, D.C. She is based in London.

It was okay for begginers

I ordered this book for a class on textile design. It is fairly well organized but the majority of the class did get confused a couple of times because of missing steps.
I had already had a class using Illustrator and Photoshop so I was able to skip a lot or I knew a more efficient way to do many of the lessons.
I recommend this book for beginners, but not for experienced Adobe users.

Great reference for digital textiles

Nice reference book if you are interested in digital textile. Contains tutorials about pattern design, repeats and special textile effects. Also has designer profiles with works samples. Even though tutorials were written for Illustrator and Photoshop software (I have CorelDraw), I was able to get some great info about creating patterns.

This book provides important reasons why you need to cover the partnership, succession planning, and general life cover for your family. Many small business are poorly prepared in these areas it is only when the Bankers insist usually because you are getting addition funds and they wish to cover themselves in case you get crook and there is no one to repay funds e.g loans. That's nice what about protecting your family and business partner.

Nice work Daryl - a well researched book that shows both your passion and your knowledge when it comes to helping business owners protect their businesses. Excellent advice all round and as business advisor for many years, I know that what you are saying is 100% true. If you want to make sure that your business is bulletproof, and it can resist the challenges associated with issues that life can deal any of us, do yourself a favour and buy a copy of Daryl's book - Business Ownership Bulletproofed.

This is a great book. Through an easy Step by Step process the author helps you to plan and protect yourself from the scenarios that most entrepreneurs like to ignore.

Things like how to plan for your exit, or the dissolution of a partnership, how to protect the business's cash-flow so you can protect your family, How to protect the value of the business that you have created and how to use your business' cash-flow to to diversify your investments and your assets to protect you from the risk that comes from having all your eggs in one basket.
All entrepreneurs take risks, I just didn't know how important or simple it is to hedge those risks and protect my families lifestyle.

It's an easy read, with easy solutions that can make a really big difference for any business owner. I think its a must read (and then act).

About the Author
Barbara A. Brinson is an associate professor of Music Education at the State University of New York at Fredonia, where she directs the University Chorus, Women's Choir, and teaches choral conducting, choral methods, and foundations courses. Dr. Brinson served for 14 years on the music faculty of Southern Methodist University in Dallas and taught choral and general music in the Georgia public schools for 10 years at the elementary through high-school levels. She has directed choirs at all levels in both schools and churches. Brinson has served as director of the Intermediate Choir of the Chautauqua Children's Chorale; held the position of Repertoire and Standards Chairperson for Youth and Student Activities for New York American Choral Directors Association (NYACDA); and served on the editorial staff of the Journal of Research in Music Teacher Education. She has written articles for publications such as the Choral Journal, Music Educators Journal, and General Music Today. A frequent clinician at conventions, conferences, and schools, she also is very active as a guest conductor and as an adjudicator at choral festivals. Her professional affiliations include National Association for Music Education, ACDA, Sigma Alpha Iota, Pi Kappa Lambda and NYSSMA. Dr. Brinson received her Ph.D. in Music Education from Florida State University, an M.M. in Choral Conducting from the University of Tennessee, an M.Ed. in Music Education from Columbus State University, and a B.M. in Music Education from Wesleyan College.

This textbook offers complete and pertinent information for any student or teacher looking to develop a successful school choral program. I am not only impressed with Prof. Brinson's organizational skills, but also with her priorities as a teacher, director, and musician.

Expensive but worth every penny

This book is filled with quality hints and tips on how to organize a choral program at school! For the beginning teacher, it is an essential guide to help them understand what is needed to be a successful choral teacher and run a successful program at school, or as an extracurricular activity. Adversely, I find the book focuses on after-school choirs too much, but if this is what you need information on, you have a great book. The book has some very interesting suggestions on discipline within the choral group. There are also excellent musical suggestions and an excellent section on how to present choral pieces to a variety of group levels from beginner to advanced.

I usually hate cleanses, mostly because of the lack of tacos

I usually hate cleanses, mostly because of the lack of tacos. I mean, how am I supposed to change my life without eating tacos? That's rubbish. That's why this book is so revolutionary- my life is so much better now AND I'm eating delicious tacos all the damn time! It's great! Thank you, Taco Cleanse!

Avocado Yoga and Black Bean Tranquility

I normally hate cleanses. They make you sound like you're dirty inside. That's pretty depressing. And you do them in January, when the weather is cold and you want to be eating warming stews of fatty beef, mashed potatoes and anything with cheese. And why a taco cleanse? Just travel to any dodgy street food stand in Guadalajara and order one with "verduras, todos frescas" and you'll have a cleanse to remember. So why this book? You get to eat tacos, admittedly vegan, but tacos. Once you hide something in a taco, it might as well be tempeh as mystery meat, you'll never be able to tell. Some of the ingredients are not found at regular groceries So you'll have to go to some specialty store to find jackfruit and yeah, tempeh. For those of you not in a rural backwater such as myself, you'll be good with Wegmans or Whole Foods. Alas, here, the CRINKLY kind of cabbage is in the exotic fruits and veg aisle.

There are also exercise tips. When you remove an avocado pit and it inevitably squirts across the counter onto the floor, under the baseboards, don't swear. That's bad for your chi. Instead EMBRACE this karmic event and stoop down and do Avocado Yoga as you retrieve it from under the fridge.

Highly recommended. This is one cleanse book that will make you smile as you toss it onto the "been there, NOT doing that" pile.

Taco-rrefic!

Many people don't know that pictures of tacos can also be detoxifying to your body. From the moment I got this book I could instantly feel the leftover organic dinosaur kale in my body start to be pushed out to make room for tacos. The taco cleanse isn't just a diet, it's a way of life. If you have a dream board, put a picture of a taco on it, order this book, make a taco, and revel in a fulfilled dream.

Chipotle is great (minus the current food poisoning problem they have that is endangering lives), but there's a problem. They're burrito pushers, or even worse, they try to get you to forgo the tortilla replacing it with.... paper? Sure they have tacos, but they treat them like the black sheep of the family. The taco cleanse will help to reshape America's view of what's really important in life: Tacos.

Start with some Mighty Migas, it's a great way to acclimate your body to eating tacos. Before you know it your body will start to be able to eat what it craves: More tacos.

I took the supporting Turbo class from Mr. Logan and we of course used this book. If you are looking for a little less theory and a lot more action this is for you. Sadly Earl passed away a few years back. His book and his teaching was an excellent aide to students, I know it helped me a ton.

Respect For Those Who Live In Slums

More than anything else this book shows another way to look at those who live in the slums. That way is with respect as viable, productive human beings who can and want to contribute positively to society when given the opportunity do do and when their needs are met as they undergo the transition and growth process. A lot should be taken from this book and the numerous organizations, individuals and research studies which are mentioned in this book when it comes to redeveloping poor areas and revitalizing inner cities around the world.

About the Author
Beattie was a struggling single parent of two children and freelance author and journalist cranking out stories for a small-town daily newspaper in 1986 when she came up with a book idea. She wanted to write a book about what happens to people when they love someone who is addicted to alcohol and other drugs."There were many books out there about how to help an addict or alcoholic. Nobody was talking about how an addict impacts the lives of the people around him or her, and how crazy you can become when you love someone who is addicted," Beattie said. "Even though I was sober, I didn't know how crazy I could get until it happened to me." Twenty publishers turned down Beattie's book proposal. "It's a good idea, but we don't think there's that many codependents out there," they wrote back.Hazelden, however, a treatment center and recovery publisher based in Minnesota, saw a need for the book. The publisher understood how families of alcoholics suffer and believed Beattie's book idea would help people. Beattie marched to the welfare department, asked for enough financial help to make it through the three months it would take her to write the book, then locked herself in a basement office and cranked out Codependent No More. Codependent No More has now sold 3.5 million copies. Beattie has since written nine more books, five for major publishing houses on the east and west coasts. She relocated from Minnesota to California, and she has long-since paid back the welfare department. Beattie has appeared in the pages of Newsweek and People and has been a regular guest on Geraldo and Oprah. Playing It By Heart is Beattie's first original book for Hazelden since 1990; the book is a return to her recovery roots that first brought her national recognition.

A life changer

I know this is an incredibly cheesy thing to say, but this book changed my life. It is a simplistic yet thorough look at this disorder. Its roots, its patterns, and, most importantly, its solutions. Like many who have probably read this book, I found myself being told I was co-dependent in therapy and not understanding what exactly that meant. Beattie even touches on that vagueness in this book, admits that codependency is not well-defined. Reading this defined it for me. It clarified exactly what it was and made me understand where it came from and how to solve it. This book was where my recovery began.

I will say this: this book is somewhat about God. If you are like me, you don't care where solutions come from as long as they work. I am a Christian so for me the tone and frequent mentions of God were not really of note, but if you are sensitive to such things just know it is a part of this book although I wouldn't say it is overbearing. You can easily enjoy this and take away plenty of help without being a religious or spiritual person.

Wow.

I've struggled with this unknowingly for as long as I can remember. In the midst of going through the hardest thing I've ever faced; the willing letting go of the person I love more then any other human being, this has been an eye opener. Overcoming the death of a parent was tough. Overcoming addiction was seemingly impossible. They but prepared me for the insanity I just survived. I found solace and strength in my actions and this book was a pillar and beacon of hope. It is beautifully written from experience in an easy to understand language; the kind you can still read as your eyes are blurred by tears as they strike home.

Thank you. This book has helped me immensely in the arduous first steps of continued recovery, acceptance, and forgiveness of self.

If you need it, it will help you

After growing up with an alcoholic and (what I thought was) a narcissist, I have been carrying a ton of weight on my back. I started reading this book on Friday night after writing the Samaritans for help with suicidal thoughts. I feel like the last day and a half has brought me more peace and contentment than the years of depression/anxiety medications ever did (just my personal experience - not everyone will feel this way.) It's still "fresh" and I still need to try taking this new approach to work next week, but I FINALLY understand why I've been how I've been and that it doesn't have to be that way. Even if you're not in a relationship with an addict, this book can help you. If you're anxious, depressed, feel stuck, feel like nobody likes you, whatever - there is something to be gained from this book.
